26th Monday 2025 | 6-8pm

Hour 1

We’ll quickly refresh all the core trig functions you need. You’ll get a clear understanding of how they behave, look on a graph, and link together on the unit circle and how degrees and radians interact. A great way to start building confidence before diving deeper.

This session shows you step-by-step how to manipulate and simplify expressions using the core identities you already know. We will go through exam techniques to approach difficult identity questions (including double angle formulae) as well as answering their trigonometric equation questions.

We'll look at more complicated equations involving harmonics, which are applied onto real life scenarios such as ferris wheels and waves. We'll focus on all the previous techniques learnt alongside exam technique.

Hour 2

When angles are tiny, trig functions behave in surprisingly simple ways. You’ll learn why sin(θ) ≈ θ and how these approximations are used in first principles, and how we can take this knowledge and apply to exam questions.

You’ll learn how to derive the derivatives of sine and cosine from first principles — no shortcuts, just proper understanding. Perfect for those who want to know the “why,” not just the “what.” No skipping questions in the exams!

We'll be looking at proof by contradiction of irrational numbers, prime numbers and other different types of proof. We’ll walk through clear examples so you can use it confidently when needed.

Exponentials and logarithms pop up everywhere — from compound interest to population models. In this part, we'll focus mostly on logarithmic models and exponential equations. Differentiation and Integration of this topic will be explored in Day 2.

27th Tuesday 2025 | 6-8pm

Hour 1

We’ll start by revisiting the basics of Y2 integration. We'll quickly recap product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule and the different rules to differentiate functions like natural logarithms and trignometric functions.

We'll quickly go ovehow to estimate the area under a curve using the trapezium rule — a handy method when you can’t integrate algebraically.

This method can look tricky at first, but we’ll break it down step-by-step. You’ll learn how to spot when substitution is needed and how to transform complex integrals into something much simpler. Most of the first hour will be spent looking at this and methods on how to do this quicker.

Hour 2

This topic will continue on from the integration by substitution topic, and will explore integration by parts, and reverse chain rules as well as modelling questions. This section will be heavy on exam questions so be ready!

A touch up on geometrical skills. We will look at how sectors, equilateral and non equilateral triangles are used to make complex shapes and use them to unusual areas.

28th Wednesday 2025 | 6-8pm

Hour 1

Most of Day 2 was heavy on integration. We will look at complicated differentiation in a paramatrics context, and also apply this onto implicit differentiation exam questions.

Circles will repeatedly reappear in each of your A-Level Exams constantly. It is important we consolidate this topic, and ensure we can approach a wide range of exam questions.

Hour 2

We will quickly recap binomial expansion, including with negative exponentials and questions based on this.

We will explore through the iteration methods, Newton-Raphson's approximation method and going over the cobweb and staircase convergence / divergence which many students tend to forget!

At the end, we will go through any specific topics that you have and go through those exam questions in detail.

FAQs

This course is taught by Anas Faisal, an experienced tutor who knows the exam system inside out. It's built to be efficient, clear, and focused on results — with proven methods that have helped students aiming for A/A*s. If you want reliable revision and expert-led support, this is for you.

Each session is live on Zoom with a small group for maximum interaction. We’ll work through a mix of challenging exam-style questions — from past papers, international specs, and other high-quality sources. I’ll walk you through examples, then you’ll attempt similar ones under timed conditions. It's active, focused, and designed to expose you to a wide range of question types and techniques.

Make sure to check the spam inbox. It may take some time for the links to arrive after you've registered. Please email studyspheretutors@gmail.com if you do not get any links within 6 hours (or if this occurs right before the time of a session).

After each session, they'll be recorded and uploaded online. A private link will be sent to you via the email you sign up with so you can watch it back at any time!

Not at all — you're welcome to join just one day if you prefer. Each session is structured to stand alone while still being part of the full revision journey.

The course is led by Anas Faisal — A* in Maths (95%) and Further Maths, Class of 2028 LSE Economics. He specialises in A-Level Maths and has helped students consistently achieve top grades, including A*s and those on track for A/A* this year.
